ATTENDEES MUST BE FULLY VACCINATED AGAINST COVID-19 – OUR FACILITY IS ONLY OPEN TO VACCINATED PERSONS VERIFIED AT THE DOOR
We’ll be learning how to leverage open source and free to use software to generate suitable designs for 3D printing and laser cutting at Sector67. These skills are applicable to many methods of digital fabrication using vector illustrations and STL files. No experience necessary, enthusiasm to learn required.
Computers are provided, however attendees are welcome to bring their own machines to use.
We’ll be using Inkscape to generate vector illustrations – attendees who have copies of Adobe Illustrator or Corel Draw are welcome to use those as well. Please download and verify your machine is capable of running Inkscape prior to attending.
We’ll be using TinkerCAD to quickly learn 3D modelling, this software is browser based and we strongly recommend having a mouse available to enhance navigation. Please create a username and verify your browser is capable of running the software here prior to attending.
Each attendee will receive (up to) a 12″ x 12″ piece of 5.2mm plywood to laser engrave/cut with their design as well as a 3D printed part up to a 3″ cube. Some participants may have to pick up their parts after class depending on the size/process of their design.
Do not send any information, but verify that your vaccination records are accessible here
We’ll be having all attendees load this page in-person on their phone/device to verify vaccinations prior to entry to our facility.
Registration for this event is closed.
